Guy Dor, Israeli Artist born in Israel in 1972, The son of an Air Force officer and a kindergarten teacher. He grew up in various Air Force bases where his father was posted. In a young age, guy, an active child, showed promise with excellent fine motor and musical skills. At age 4 he began playing the piano. At 18 guy was drafted to the army and he decided to volunteer at the military border police as a combat policeman. He was trained as a combat paramedic and served the country for 8 years including being a commander of military medical clinics, servicing Jews and Arabs alike and participating in crucial military operations and completing the service as a distinguished soldier. After completing his military service, Guy chose to explore new avenues and worked in a school for children with behavioral problems for a period of time, later, he used his charisma and drive to distinguished himself in the theater production world, and for a number of years he had a thriving production business. However, being a true artist, Guy decided to spend a couple of years writing a book on his life experience, philosophy and the human condition (a book he never published). At the same time he accumulated hundreds of sketches dealing with the relationship between Man and Man, Man and God, and soul searching. In later years he had a business designing and selling Luxury Jewelry as well as working as a real estate agent. Paintbrushes and pencils have been a constant fixture in Guys life, but he did not devote himself or develop his talent except for painting a number of oil paints in the 1990s. His family kept the paintings until 2012 when he began showing them in art exhibitions for limited audiences. Some of his paintings were seen as brilliant works of art, paving way to a new movement in the art world. in 2013, some of his paintings gained considerable attention and respect, bringing heightened awareness to his unique style. “Guy Dor brings a new style to the art world. Dor, who never studies art, is able to maintain a clear line of thought within his paintings and the result is instantly imprinted in the mind of the beholder, thus positioning themselves in a novel and unique art movement, removed from modern trends or market demands” Guy lives in a suburb of Tel Aviv and works in his home where he is able to be freely creative in the company of close friends and family.
